About
Lynsey Van Aswegen
Hello! I’m Lynsey van Aswegen and I am passionate about dance education!
I am on a mission to help dance teachers continue learning about HOW to teach alongside what to teach.
There are so many benefits of learning to dance beyond the actual steps, and I’m here to help dance teachers shout about the benefits and to grow as professional educators, as well as great dancers.
I have been teaching dance since 2010 alongside a career in finance and in that time, I have collected a lot of qualifications… I love learning, and I also love being able to break down complicated academic things into useful practical chunks– and that’s what DanceCPD is all about!
After teaching for over a decade, I started to feel like my classes had gone a bit stale. I started to explore how to be a better teacher – how to go beyond the syllabus, how to help my students with social and emotional development.
I even looked at how to use dance to teach core life skills like maths and language. I worked with a mentor and got so much out of being able to discuss, review and reflect on my teaching practice.
Now I want to help you too! You can boost the outcomes your students achieve by supercharging your teaching and leadership skills. My unique blend of industry experiences, my knack of making complicated things easy, and my genuine passion for the dance teaching profession means I can provide you with the tools and guidance you need to thrive as a confident educator.
If you’re ready to elevate your dance teaching, grow your teaching career and offer the very best to your students, let’s work together.
I’m here to help you succeed!
It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.
